The Justice Is Mind project began in 2010 when Mark Lund wrote the screenplay. In 2011 a short film version titled Justice Is Mind: Evidence was produced to present the concept of the story and to act as a capital raise vehicle for the feature film version. After premiering Evidence in January 2012 and through subsequent screenings and presentations, the funding for the feature film was realized and pre-production began in May 2012 with principal photography concluding in October 2012.
